Michio Kaku: Science is the engine of prosperity. Think of all the great waves of prosperity. In the 1800s it was the steam engine and the locomotive, which gave us the Industrial Revolution. Then it was the electric revolution of Edison and the internal combustion engine. And now it’s the high-tech revolution.   Now the next revolution beyond that could be GNR. Nanotechnology represents the use of molecular machines, machines made out of molecules, which could eventually, at some distant point give us the ability to rearrange matter itself almost at will. This is the power of a god. It’s the power that we read about in mythology and that’s where I think we’re going with nanotechnology in the future.
